Clipper – Simplify the Screen Capture Process
Review by on
I am sure it comes as no surprise when I tell you that taking a screen capture, with no help from third party software, can prove to be a lengthy process. The first thing you have to do is press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. Then you have to open an image editor, most likely MS Paint, since it is built into the Windows operating system. Then you have to paste the screen capture into the image editor. And then at last, you can save your screen capture.

If you were to turn to 3rd party software, you could simplify this process and make your life a bit easier. The MMRR Software-developed application Clipper aims to simplify this process.

Once you have Clipper, the moment your press the Print Screen button, the application will automatically save your screen capture to the directory of your choosing. By default this directory is the same one where you installed Clipper. If you hold down Alt then press Print Screen, the application will take a screen capture of the active window alone. You can of course change the hotkey used for taking screen captures. You can select any key that you want or any key combination that you want. You can also change the directory where the screen captures are stored; select any folder you want.

You can minimize Clipper to the System Tray, then press the Print Screen button whenever you want to make a screen capture. There is no handy minimize button on the application’s UI; to minimize Clipper you have to click File -> Hide Window.

Clipper allows you to add custom text to your screen captures (a watermark if you will). This text can be placed in the upper left corner, upper right corner, up center, lower left corner, lower right corner, or down center.

If you don’t want to keep pressing Print Screen (or any other hotkey you choose to take a screen capture), you can set it up so that Clipper automatically takes a screen capture at a specific interval of time, like for example every two seconds. And you can tell Clipper to stop after it took a specific number of images.

With Clipper you can take several images and generate a HTML gallery.
